How tuition works

Here is what sets tuition, what the extras are for and where to find the figures.

  • What sets tuition

Tuition depends on the grade, how many classes a week a dancer takes and how long each class runs. Junior classes are an hour, and senior classes run longer as the pieces do. Our figures are on the registration page, and Vidya is glad to talk them through on the phone.

    • The grade

    • Classes a week

    • Class length

  • Registration

A yearly registration covers the school's file for your dancer, the studio's insurance and your place in the parent portal. It is due when you register for your first session.

  • Billing

Tuition is billed monthly, by autopay through the parent portal, or by the session if you would rather pay once. The adult evening can be paid by the session.

  • Siblings

A second dancer in the family is handled differently from the first. Ask us when you register, and we will tell you how.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

A missed class can be made up in another class of the same grade, or the grade just below it, within the same session. Book it at the desk or by message.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

Costumes for the annual performance are stitched to order, ordered in the summer and billed before the performance in November. The performance has a production charge for each dancer, and guests need tickets. Ankle bells are bought by the family when the teacher says a dancer is ready. A solo debut has costs of its own, such as a hall, musicians and a costume, and they are planned with the family well ahead. We do not enter competitions, so there are no entry or travel costs.

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a month's notice before a dancer leaves, so we can offer the place to someone on the waitlist. A costume already ordered for the performance is still due.
